With fashion week bringing style, creativity, and flair to the streets of London, the weather turning with the leaves and the retutrn of the pumpkin spice late, I can't help but get excited about autumn fashion and the promise of statement coats, boots, and big cosy jumpers (which may become more than just a fashion statement due to the rising cost of energy bills, but that's another post entirely).

I'm currently loving neutrals, suit styling, anything oversized, the return of the denim skirt, loafers, and platform boots. I've gathered together some of my favourite pieces for varying budgets and tried to find examples of sustainable options as well!

Loafers

Loafers are all the rage at the moment, with the trend seemingly coming from those prada loafers that I keep seeing on Instagram and Pinterest. The beauty of a loafer comes from their simplicity, style and comfort and the fact that they can go with literally anything; a skirt, trousers, jeans. Then add a funky colourful sock and you couldn't be further away from the Clarks loafers of primary school.

Denim Maxi and Midi Skirt

The denim skirt is a staple within any wardrobe, but the return of the denim maxi skirt, seen sweeping the streets of New York during fashion week, with the low rise, bleached denimi maxis at the Fendi SS2023 show and the darker denim maxi skirts at the Altuzarra SS2023 show springing to mind. Pair with cowboy boots, chunky boots or trainers and a big baggy jumper.

Brown

Brown is one of those colours that seemed awful as a child, maybe because it reminded me of being forced into my Brownie uniform every tuesday. However, the neutral, easy to wear colour is perfect for autumn and may be the new black.
